The Kern River Valley Historical Society has been in operation for over 40 years. Our mission is to preserve and communicate the rich and colorful history of this region. To achieve these goals we have established the Kern Valley Museum in downtown Kernville next to the Post Office.

March Field Trip

Out next field trip will be a local field trip on Saturday, March 18th...

at 1PM to the newly established Hot Springs Valley Wetlands Preserve.

The vast acreage located across the boulevard from the Von’s Plaza in Lake Isabella has been secured as a preserve by the efforts of the Kern River Valley Heritage Foundation.  The wetlands can be entered at the intersection of Erskine Creek Road and the boulevard.

Be sure to bring your hats, jackets, hiking boots and walking sticks. A folding chair might make you more comfortable during the talk lead by Bob Barnes. Have your lunch, and then join us to learn all about the Preserve. The community is welcome.
