The Kern River Valley Historical Society has been in operation for over 40 years. Our mission is to preserve and communicate the rich and colorful history of this region. To achieve these goals we have established the Kern Valley Museum in downtown Kernville next to the Post Office.
Two April Field Trips
On April 10, the Historical Society will join the “Meandering Mondays”,...
sponsored by the Sequoia Forest Keeper to explore wildflowers in our area.
We will meet at 8:00 AM at the Kernville Fire Station to car pool. The trip should last about 2 hours.
Bring drinks, snacks, cameras, binoculars, and a field guide. Wear sturdy shoes, hats, sunscreen and bug repellent. The trip will be led by Allison Sheehey, a certified Master Naturalist. She will identify flowers, and help us learn identification tricks. This is a first come, first served field trip, limited to 24 participants.
If you have more questions call Sheehey at 760-376-4434. Please call JoAnne Johnson, to make a reservation for the trip at 503-298-9395 or This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it
