The Kern River Valley Historical Society has been in operation for over 40 years. Our mission is to preserve and communicate the rich and colorful history of this region. To achieve these goals we have established the Kern Valley Museum in downtown Kernville next to the Post Office.
Docents Needed!

Our busy time is upon us here in the Kern River Valley...

People are starting to come out to fish, shop in our stores, and just enjoy our little mountain paradise. I hope you are all ready with your greetings and wonderful stories when they come in for a visit.

Also, we have a few new Docents to welcome to our staff. These people have joined us since the first of the year. They are: Erie Johnson, Helen Eberle, Kitty Rock and a new "Jr" Docent, Maddie Walsh. Be sure and welcome them when you are stopping in to see what is going on.

We are trying something new--putting "Place Mats" in a few of the restaurants around advertising the Museum. If they bring that place mat to the gift shop we will give them 10% off. So watch for those place mats and we will see how that is working........

Thanks for all your hours of dedication!
