The Kern River Valley Historical Society has been in operation for over 40 years. Our mission is to preserve and communicate the rich and colorful history of this region. To achieve these goals we have established the Kern Valley Museum in downtown Kernville next to the Post Office.

Then join the Kern River Valley Historical Society! The Kern River Valley Historical Society meets monthly on the 4th Tuesday of the month at 7:00 p.m. at the Senior Center. Each month, we have interesting program speakers. We also sponsor Field Trips & Seminars. We operate the Kern Valley Museum which is open Thursday-Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Historical Society members receive a monthly newsletter providing advanced notice & details about Historical Society events.
