The Kern River Valley Historical Society has been in operation for over 40 years. Our mission is to preserve and communicate the rich and colorful history of this region. To achieve these goals we have established the Kern Valley Museum in downtown Kernville next to the Post Office.

Here are the collections that will be displayed over summer:

  • June – Lois and Don Chapman will display Cups and Saucers
  • July – Rebecca Giddens will showcase her memorabilia from the Athens Olympics – Rebecca won the silver medal in kayaking.
  • August – Local 'Rosie the Riveters' will have a display of their WWII memorabilia.

You may sign up in advance if your display is relevant to a specific month or event.
