The Kern River Valley Historical Society has been in operation for over 40 years. Our mission is to preserve and communicate the rich and colorful history of this region. To achieve these goals we have established the Kern Valley Museum in downtown Kernville next to the Post Office.
Docent Report

I must give a huge THANK YOU to all of the docents who...

responded to my plea for help last month!

Several of you have stepped up and have taken on another day to work at the Museum and I REALLY appreciate it! Besides that we have had several people responding to the newspaper articles, coming in and talking to the docents, and just being interested in what we do. Then they decide to join our group!

Also, a big THANK YOU to all the docents who worked over History Days! You were everywhere showing off our Museum, greeting the people, and staying extra hours just to help out. Lynn McGarity spent two days serving bread and butter to all our visitors and they loved it!

We only heard great comments from the many visitors going through. We hopefully will be training several new people this month! Last month we had MONICA O'BRIEN join us!! Hopefully, I will have several names in next month's Saddlebag..

Questions? Give me a call...Vicki Middleworth (see your Saddlebag)
