Sept Field Trip
Continuing Our Exploration of the Influence on Our History of Various Ethnic Groups, We Will Explore...
the Contributions of Folks from India and Their Descendants on a Field Trip, September 19, 2017, Beginning at Noon.
For the past several years, we have devoted a field trip to exploring the influence and significance to our county and state of the Basque, Chinese and Native Americans.
This year, the topic will be the contributions of folks from India and their descendants. We will have a specially prepared buffet banquet lunch at the Taj Mahal Restaurant in Bakersfield, 5416 California Avenue, Bakersfield followed by a guest speaker who will help us understand the contributions of his people to this country.
In addition to the usual Tandoori dishes, salad bar, and nan bread, the chef will prepare a special Goat Curry and a Fish Vindaloo. Lassi, a yogurt drink, and tea will be served along with Gulab Jamin for desert . Beer, wine and cocktails will be available at additional cost.
To make a reservation for this field trip, please submit a check at the Museum by Friday, September 15, made out to the Historical Society for $16.50 which includes taxes and gratuity. Or, you may mail the check, before September 14, to M&M, PO Box 1937, Kernville 93238. The Historical Society will then submit one check for the banquet to the Taj Mahal.
