The Kern River Valley Historical Society has been in operation for over 40 years. Our mission is to preserve and communicate the rich and colorful history of this region. To achieve these goals we have established the Kern Valley Museum in downtown Kernville next to the Post Office.

Just in time to celebrate the “Ultimate Fearless Female”, the August display will honor...

the Rosie the Riveters and Wendy the Welders of the Kern River Valley.

Frances Landsaw coordinated the exhibit. The Ladies in the red bandannas, have earned our awe. Anyone who is curious about these very active women should check out http://www.rosietheriveter.org for information on the August Rosie Rallies.
