The Kern River Valley Historical Society has been in operation for over 40 years. Our mission is to preserve and communicate the rich and colorful history of this region. To achieve these goals we have established the Kern Valley Museum in downtown Kernville next to the Post Office.

Recap of Ice Cream Social

The ice cream social on top of Greenhorn Mountain was a sweet success...

It was organized by Rod and Vicki Middleworth. We all had a fun time trying to eat all of the ice cream, cookies, and cakes that we brought.

Added to that, John Newman brought a Dutch oven and baked fresh brownies for all of us. We all sat around a circle, ate lots of goodies, told about ourselves, visited, and had a great time being outdoors.

The weather up there was perfect. It was great fun!
