The Kern River Valley Historical Society has been in operation for over 40 years. Our mission is to preserve and communicate the rich and colorful history of this region. To achieve these goals we have established the Kern Valley Museum in downtown Kernville next to the Post Office.

A Message from the Pres

I want to thank Hal Chiprin, Joan Homan, Erie and JoAnne Johnson,...

and all the special people who put together our monthly general meeting programs, our field trips, and our history classes.

Did you know that these informative events all happen because people like you get together and share ideas?

We call these get-togethers “committees.” For example, we have a program committee, a field trip committee, an education committee, and so on.

Well, you get the picture. Here’s the $64,000 question! Is a committee for you? It is very rewarding to be involved, but you will never know until you try.

So try it, you will like it. Give me a call (760-376-1291 or 760-376-6290) and we will talk it over.

Hope to hear from you,

---Rich
