The Kern River Valley Historical Society has been in operation for over 40 years. Our mission is to preserve and communicate the rich and colorful history of this region. To achieve these goals we have established the Kern Valley Museum in downtown Kernville next to the Post Office.

September Recaps

I hated bunching up the recaps to these outstanding...

events, but I ran out of space. These events deserve better, but here we go:

We had a great general meeting program presented by Glenda and Bill Rankin. The love of a way of life (family owned ranching) and the concern of losing it due to over regulation was presented. Many local family ranches face the same issue.

Our field trip to the Taj Mahal was outstanding. We learned a lot and ate some exotic food. It was led by Jaqueline Morgan and Don Morrison.

We came in third during Pride Day and helped clean up our valley by collecting a lot of trash. Our efforts, led by Robert Rusby, netted us $100.
