The Kern River Valley Historical Society has been in operation for over 40 years. Our mission is to preserve and communicate the rich and colorful history of this region. To achieve these goals we have established the Kern Valley Museum in downtown Kernville next to the Post Office.

Martin Varga’s show ‘Fluid Sculpture Art’,...

will be on display for the month of November.

He uses fluids which have liquid gaseous particles that yield and reshape when acted upon by force to create unique textures and shapes.

Martin was born here in the valley and went to High School here He is a registered Civil Engineer. He is married to Jeanne Denvir, who also grew up in Walker Basin. She is the daughter of Helen Cross Rankin.
