The Kern River Valley Historical Society has been in operation for over 40 years. Our mission is to preserve and communicate the rich and colorful history of this region. To achieve these goals we have established the Kern Valley Museum in downtown Kernville next to the Post Office.

The Kern River Art Association Presents

   Fluid Sculpture Art

Martin Varga

Martin's current project, Fluid Sculpture Art, uses fluids which have liquid or

gaseous particles that easily yield and reshape when acted upon by force to

create unique textures and shapes.  A number of his images are created from a

specialized form of fluid artwork through the use of colliding water drops and

colored lights to create an artistic rendering of water sculpture images.  His

goal is that the final images will reveal to the observer an aspect of his art that

has never been seen before.

The TURKEY TROT HOME TOUR will be held on Sunday, November 5th...

starting at the museum annex with lunch. Then we will be visiting significant architectural and historical homes in the Kern River Valley, in Kernville, and Wofford Heights.

The cost is $25.00 per ticket. This is a fundraiser for the Historical Society. The event will be 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM. You can come at any time during that time frame, but be sure to give yourself time to tour the houses!

You will be given a map at lunch of all the exciting and beautiful homes you will visit. We hope you can car pool because some of the homes have limited parking.

Tickets are available at the museum, and by calling (see your Saddlebag), or Email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it
