The Kern River Valley Historical Society has been in operation for over 40 years. Our mission is to preserve and communicate the rich and colorful history of this region. To achieve these goals we have established the Kern Valley Museum in downtown Kernville next to the Post Office.

The Kern River Art Association Presents

   Fluid Sculpture Art

Martin Varga

Martin's current project, Fluid Sculpture Art, uses fluids which have liquid or

gaseous particles that easily yield and reshape when acted upon by force to

create unique textures and shapes.  A number of his images are created from a

specialized form of fluid artwork through the use of colliding water drops and

colored lights to create an artistic rendering of water sculpture images.  His

goal is that the final images will reveal to the observer an aspect of his art that

has never been seen before.

A festive AFTERNOON is planned for the annual Holiday/Installation...

Luncheon on Monday, December 4, 2017, at 1:00 PM.

Once again it will be held at Ewing's on the Kern in Kernville, with a no-host social hour beginning at 1:00 PM with lunch and program at 2:00 PM.

This year's menu will feature a choice of Tri-tip Sandwich, Grilled Chicken Club Sandwich, Cobb Salad, or Artisan Sandwich.

Sandwiches include potato salad. Salads include chicken or steak. Included with each meal are beverage (coffee, tea or soda) and dessert.

The cost for any choice is $17.00 which includes tax and tip. Cocktails are served separately in the bar. We are hopeful that an afternoon event will allow those who can't attend an evening event to attend.

Seating is limited and reservations are required. Please don't make us turn you away. The deadline for reservations is, Wednesday, November 22. Stop by the Museum or see the Saddlebag for for the reservation form.

This is our AFTERNOON to honor those who have made noteworthy contributions to the Society, install officers for the coming year, and socialize with fellow workers. See you there!
