The Kern River Valley Historical Society has been in operation for over 40 years. Our mission is to preserve and communicate the rich and colorful history of this region. To achieve these goals we have established the Kern Valley Museum in downtown Kernville next to the Post Office.

January 16th—Field Trip to the New Forest Service Office in Kernville...

The next field trip is January 16th at the new Sequoia National Forest Ranger Station.  We'll meet at 10:00AM at the new Ranger Station in Kernville.

The building is 10,000 square feet, a state- of-the art facility. It was built with sustainable materials and employs lighting, HVAC and irrigation control systems. The buildings solar panels will produce 17,000 kWh and provide nearly all of the facility’s energy needs each year.
