The Kern River Valley Historical Society is celebrating over 50 years of operation! Our mission is to preserve and communicate the rich and colorful history of this region. The Kern Valley Museum in downtown Kernville, next to the Post Office, welcomes visitors to explore our rich history.

What's Happening

May 18th & 19th.
Don’t forget! May is coming and it is time for History
Days. This is the museum’s way of thanking our
community for their support. So, put on your best
western duds and come on out and join the fun!

Saturday, there will be our marvelous Dutch oven
cooks, Native American crafts, demonstrations of
butter churning and gold panning, and tractors on
display in the field across from the Museum.

On Sunday, there will be music in the Pack Station. It’s a
great way to visit with all of your friends!
