The Kern River Valley Historical Society is celebrating over 50 years of operation! Our mission is to preserve and communicate the rich and colorful history of this region. The Kern Valley Museum in downtown Kernville, next to the Post Office, welcomes visitors to explore our rich history.

What's Happening

February is a busy month, and our Board of Directors is up to the challenge....

It’s Whiskey Flat Days, and we are involved! Our old Graham truck will be in the parade as usual, but this year we are doing some new things.

At Kernville Elementary, we will be showing two old cowboy movies as a fundraiser. Chuck Barbee is going to help us with a preview of his Wild West Country: Part 3 during this showing.

Also during Whiskey Flat Days, we will be having an art show at the Annex led by the Curmudgeons: Gene, Larry, and Rich. As always, our docents and museum will be ready for our many visitors, and our gift shop has many new items to sell.

In the Art Room, we will be featuring limited addition prints of photographs from the Annex collection.

It’s a busy month! Don’t miss out!

Your new, already worn-out president,

Ron Anderson
